PERMITTING PROCESS

Sunshine Wind Park received a conditional use permit from Coconino County in early 2005 for construction of up to 40 turbines on a combination of Hopi private fee lands and private ranch lands.

The idea for the Sunshine Wind Park was conceived nearly six years ago. The Sunshine Wind Park project design has been guided by rigorous studies, extensive field work, and engineering analyses in an effort to balance the interests of numerous stakeholders.
